March Quilt Guild Block of the Month

These are the March blocks for guild.  If you need the pattern, check with Rhea.  Remember there are the pieced blocks and also the appliquéd blocks like below.

Becky and Angeli are showing the ones they did for February.  These are going to be cute quilts.

More of Amy Maxwell

This is more of the trunk show Amy Maxwell gave us this month, in our guild.  Amy does the Winter Quilt Retreat in Logan and also works at Bernina.  She makes beautiful quilts and we were so glad that she came all the way down here to share them with us.

If I remember correctly, this is a Buggy Barn pattern.  It is so fun and it has Minky on the back.  Look how fun the quilting is on the back.

I also think this is a Buggy Barn pattern.  Isn't it beautiful.

This one reminds me of birthday cake.

Sorry, it is blurry.  People don't slow down for the photograpers sometimes.

Amy was pointing out that the centers are supposed to have yo-yo's in the centers.

This is the back of that quilt.

This is the front and below is the back.  It is called Science Fair.

This has tiny little pieces.  Beautiful.

I am pretty sure this is called Pineapple Sherbet.  So Pretty.

This is an easy quick quilt.

Thank you Amy for sharing your beautiful art with us.  I loved the trunk show and I hope all of you enjoyed it also.

Tyler Whitesides

Tyler Whitesides, the author of The Janitors books came to Panguitch.  I have read all the series but the last one and I have really enjoyed them. The books are junior fiction so they are perfect for the kids.  My son loved them and is on the last book.  It was a real treat to have Tyler come.  He was fun to listen to.  It was interesting to hear about his life and how his creativity was used to create the books.
Tyler graduated in music and is a drummer.  He has some youtube videos on his drumming if you are interested.  He did some drumming for us on a garbage can.  If you get a chance to hear him, take it.

Amy Maxwell's Trunk Show

We had Amy Maxwell of Logan come down to share her quilts with us.  She gave a  wonderful trunk show.  I am so glad I was able to see all of her quilts.  She is very talented.  She also does the Winter Quilt Fest Retreat.

Amy loves to applique.

This one is done with that curved ruler that you use to make Metro Rings.

I love this one.

This is Amy.  She says she loves hand work and hand quilting.

This one is a Buggy Barn pattern.  Amy said that they have quite a few of their patterns.

This is a fun summer quilt.

The flowers and hearts are nice.

This one is very fun.  I think if I made any this would be the one I would make.  I love the hot chocolate feel of this wintery quilt.

I think this was a block exchange.  She belongs to a couple of guilds and sewing groups.

I think this was also an exchange.

The embroidery on this was exquisite.

This would be fun for July.

This is another one I would love to make.  I love it.

Amy said she did this as an exchange.  She did appliqué blocks and her friend did the pieced ones.

These are some of her first quilts.  They are still dear to her heart.

This is a Scatter Sunshine quilt like the song.  I have more of Amy Maxwell in another post.  She had lots to show so check out the next Amy Maxwell post.
