Skiing at Bryce Canyon

The sun was brilliant today.  I thought a hat would help and it did.  What a beautiful day.  My girls and I went to Ruby's Inn to cross country ski.  It was the first time for my girls and they loved it.

These girls have a lot of energy.  After a couple of hours skiing they put in a couple of hours of ice skating.

I just tried out a new app to change photos.  Isn't this fun.  I hope you are all having a great vacation.

Quiltwalk Quilt

The Quilt Walk Quilt is almost done. It only needs to be bound. We will soon be selling opportunities to win it. Lana donated the kit and our Panguitch sewing group worked on it. I love it. I hope I win.

This is Jerilu's quilt. It is turning out beautifully.

Christmas Pillows

Lana made these darling Christmas Pillows.  I thought you would get a kick out of this top one.  She has them in her living room with all of the darling homemade decorations around.  Christmas is such a fun Holiday.  Not only are the decorations cute but it is a feel good Holiday, especially if you are sewing for someone you love.

Corn Wagon In Springville

I swung by Corn Wagon because they had a sale I could not resist.  I only took a few photos this time of some of the new quilts they have.  This first one looks like the blocks are framed.  This would be perfect to use the fabrics that are so cute you just want to frame them.

The thirties prints are some of my favorites.  The scrappy look is fun too.

It is hard to see but the center fabrics are fussy cut to show the prince and princesses.  They have unicorns too.  My Sophie would love this.  She still keeps asking Santa for a Unicorn that would grant her every wish.

The Clam shell is so pretty.  It is one of those that just looks hard to me.  Lana is working on one of these.

Sexie Hexies!  That should be a fun class.

Look at these multicolored life savors.  This is one happy quilt.

This one speaks to me.  It is so cute.  It is warm and sweet.  You may want to be on Corn Wagon's email list to see the sales.  Some of them you may not want to miss either.

Dianne's Crocheted Blessing Dress

I stopped by Dianne's house to drop something off and she showed me her finished crocheted blessing dress.  She had been working on this for oh at least a month.  It turned out so pretty.  LaVee also helped.  She hadn't put the ribbon in the sleeves yet to gather them but I think this will be fabulous on her grand daughter.  She was lucky to find some matching booties at a store which is really lucky.  Dianne was working on the slip but wasn't quite finished.
I also took a picture of this.  I thought it would be a great way to display Christmas cards and photos. What a cute idea.  I have a board with clothes pins and photos for my Family Home Evening board.  It shows us who is saying the prayer, picking the song or giving the lesson.  I have really liked having it.

Lana's Christmas Oraments

I stopped by Lana's house and was able to see the fun Christmas decorations she had.  She had made this tree skirt out of felt.  She included some of the places here in Panguitch including Foy's Country Corner and her home.  It has a bakery and a doll house too.

These little felt ornaments are a labor of love.  Some of these take all day to make.  She is making some as a gift.  They are so cute.

Can you see the fabric chain she made too?  It wraps around the tree several times and is made of a bunch of different fabrics.  You could use your scraps to make your own.

I know you can purchase kits for these ornaments.  I have even seen kits for stockings to match.  My sister made an advent calendar from one of these kits too.

These were really a treat to see.  Also today we had a Christmas Choir Concert.  Some of those kids have real talent.  I love Christmas music.  We also had a Community Family Night, put on by the Prevention Coalition.  I think that had a great turn out.  The Forest Service put up lights in the park.  They had dinner, A fun hay ride, crafts, a big fire with hot chocolate and cookies,Santa, and dinner.  It was tons of fun.  The weather was better this year too.

Santa in Panguitch

Here in Panguitch we have many opportunities to see Santa.  Santa comes to our LDS Church Ward Parties, to the Social Hall and to the grocery store.  Our girls love to go to the Social Hall, the first Saturday in December to see him.  He gives them a stocking full of fun stuff and they get to tell him what they would like.

My friend's daughter asked for a little brother.  Santa told her he couldn't do anything about that.

Now, each year when we see Santa, my daughter says, "that's not the real Santa."  She then goes on to tell me that Mrs Santa is my friend.  You may recognize Claudia and Leon Crump.  They make a fabulous great Mr and Mrs Clause.  They do such a nice job.  Honestly the Holidays in Panguitch are great.

Heather's Projects

I went to see my sister, Heather.  I just had to share some of the projects she has been working on.  This quilt above turned out so cute.  It almost reminds me of stained glass.  By the way I think Ramona from the Corn Wagon did the quilting.  Heather loves the work she does and generally goes there.

This one below is knitted.  It is out of the softest wool.  The bounce in this is so nice.  It is for a baby. I think any baby would love this.  It is warm and soft.  Heather got the yarn at Heinselmans in Provo. They will help you for free if you buy your yarn from there.
This one is like one Heather saw at the Quilt Walk that Emily Bailey made.

Now don't tell anyone but Heather has been making doll clothes for Christmas gifts.  They are so cute.  Don't you think home made gifts make Christmas more exciting?

This is one made from the left overs of the one at the top  It is so fun.  Can you believe how many things she is getting done.  I am happy to say that at least I got my new curtains up.

Last Night's Open Sew

Last night was a blast at open sew.  Jerilu showed us the quilts she has been working on and they are so impressive.  The one above is a wool appliqué quilt.  She still has to finish some of the stitching on this one.  It is darling though.  The one below is for one of her grandsons.  She was thinking he was going to graduate this year and then her husband told her that she was really ahead.  He doesn't graduate for two years.  Well she is going to have plenty of time to have it quilted and bound.  We were having so much fun and laughing so hard I was in tears.  You are all welcome to come, every Wednesday at 6:00 at the Senior Citizens, unless we have Quilt Guild.  We would love to see you there.
