Half moon bay yarn shop

Last week I went to  Half Moon Bay near San Francisco.  This was a beautiful place.  It is close to the ocean and cool.  I was able to explore while my husband worked and I found this cute fiber shop.  Its name is Fengari Fiber Arts.  They have beautiful fibers.  They have fun patterns and even some looms for pot holders and drop spindle kits for the beginners.  This shop was a real treat to see.  Half Moon Bay was a great place to visit too.  We stayed at the Inn that was on the corner of the same block as Fengari.  It was quaint and cozy.  I would recommend the whole town.  Even the bakerys were wonderful.

New Years Inspiration

When I was growing up my grandmother had a quilt made with this pattern on one of the beds upstairs.  It was really heavy, which I loved because it was so cold up there in the winter.  Corn Wagon had this Frivols kit on sale the day I went in and so I bought it.  Isn't it a happy quilt.  It brings back fond memories of my grandparents.

I have this pattern now also.  I am hoping to have it made by next Christmas.

I love these quilts.  I now wish I had checked who had made these and who the patterns are from.  I am sure Corn Wagon Quilt Shop could tell any of you.

I am sure MaryAnn Michaels made this.  She does such beautiful work.

Isn't this acute pattern.

I still want to make one of these Granny Square quilts.

Hopefully you are all inspired to make some beautiful warm quilts this winter.  While the snow is flying keep those hands warm, quilting.

Mr Bones

This is my pillow I just made.  I still have to quilt it and put the back on it.  It is a pattern by Better Homes and Gardens in their magazine.  It is called No Bones about It.  I didn't do the flying geese like the pattern but Jerilu did.  It is cute either way. It is a lot of fun to make.
This one is Jerilu's.  He is almost ghostly.  I love it.

Corn Wagon Peeks

This wool pillow should get you in the mood for winter.  It is darling and simple wool appliqué.  The Corn Wagon had some new thing that caught my eye that I thought I would share.

Corn Wagon always has fun ideas of things to make.  This looks like a simple project and a great gift to make for your friends.

I love the wool crazy things.  Not only because it is made of wool but because you can all sorts of things that you love to the project.

This has to be one of Marianne Michaels hooked rugs.  She is always making amazing things.  I love her work.

I just love these pumpkins.  I have mine already cut out ready to make for next year.  You can just say that I am ahead.  Actually I cut them out before Halloween this year but life got in the way of getting all my projects done.

This is a hooked scarecrow.  So cute.

This was in the class room.  It looks like a fun project.

Another wool crazy that is for the winter.  That one is a Primitive Gatherings pattern.

Check out their shop.  It is one of my favorites.
