Marianne Michaels Large quilts

Marianne Michaels came to our Guild to show us all the wonderful things she does with wool.  I have admired her work for more than ten years.  She works for Corn Wagon in Springville.  As you all know that is one of my favorite shops.  I can't get out of that store without spending money.  She does the wool dying for the Corn Wagon and a lot of the wool displays and kits.  These are some of her quilts she has made with wool.

Now some of these are made with recycled wool and some are with new.  She prefers the wool batting because the weight of the cotton is too heavy.  She likes to take a larger seam with the wool piecing, and she likes to press the seams open to lessen the bulk.

This is Marianne.  She is a work of art and I love her work.

This is a log cabin block.

This is also a log cabin block but placed differently.

One of these was made from the left over blocks.  I don't know which but they are beautiful.

Log Cabin blocks are so versatile.  This is another one and it looks so different.

This is a stack and whack quilt.

I do have to say that this is my most favorite in this group.  I love all the embroidery and to see all the different pieces of fabric.

Row by Row Challenge

Do you remember the Row by Row challenge that happened over the summer?  Well Someone finished this one and it is so cute.  I never thought of doing mine in just a couple of colors.  I really like how this turned out.  This one is hanging at the Corn Wagon Quilt shop.

September Guild Show and Tell

Our guild show and tell was great this month.  These ladies are spectacular.  They really make nice things.

Gwen's quilt is so beautiful.  I just love this pattern.

This is our Sub for Santa Quilt.  We made one for Panguitch and one for Tropic.  This one still needs a home.  We are hoping to raise money for the Sub for Santa program for that area.  If anyone knows how to best go about this for the Tropic area please let me know.  Crystal quilted it and finished it.  She really did a nice job.  These next three quilts are also hers.  I have never seen anyone as fast as she is at making quilts.  I really admire her.

This is our Round Robin quilt.  Nice.

Sandy did another one of the bench pillows.  That pattern series is really fun.  

Roxanna produce this quilt.  My camera on my phone took both the pictures above and below.  They look like totally different quilts.  I assure you they are the same.

Nice work ladies.  You are all awesome.

September's Mystery Quilter

Shauna Anderson was our Guild Mystery Quilter.  This first quilt was done with the blocks we all made when she was the guild president.  It was a block of the month and each month we would choose a different color for the block and the black tied all the blocks together.  I love the way she finished her quilt.  It turned out beautiful.  She said that she has a very supportive husband that is willing to stop at the quilt shops when traveling.  That is great.  She also, loves to take classes.

I think she said she bought this Hawaiian quilt.

This is the front and the picture below is the back.  Isn't this a beautiful quilt.  I think these were blocks from a block exchange.

This was done using just scraps.

This quilt was made for Shauna's parents when they retired.  People that worked at Ruby's Inn made the blocks for the quilt.

This is certainly happy.

If I remember correctly these quilts were made at classes that Shauna attended.

Shauna quilted these too, I am fairly sure.  She really produces some beautiful work.

Our Fair Hobby Exhibits

You may be surprised to know that one young lady from Panguitch made all of these characters out of sculpy.  I am very impressed.  These exhibits really include anything people made.  The creativity here in our county is amazing.

This snowboard bike was made by a handicapped guy here.  It is great.  I am looking forward to seeing him use it.

This is my husbands creation.  He even played it in the talent contest.  He took second, I thought he did a great job.

I had called up my friend to remind her to enter her wreath and she won the sweep stakes with it.  

The two bottom wreaths belong to my daughters.

If you look carefully you can see what this mom did with her son's collection.  She turned it into a treasure box.

Sophie is showing her necklace and bracelet she made.

For our fair anything goes.  It is laid back and tons of fun.  I hope you all join us next year.

Fall Round Robin

Our Guild Round Robin turned out so cute.  There are a couple of people in our guild that really put the effort into getting their quilts done.  They turned out darling.  I am sure when they are quilted they will be even more beautiful.  Also some of the embellishments won't be put on until the quilting is done.  This is Crystals.  Wow.
