Machine quilting

This was a class on machine quilting.  From what I understand the person who quilted this, quilted the fabric first.  Then, she used pens to fill in.  I think it is called zen tangles.  I think this is lovely.

This one may have done in the same way but I can't remember for sure.

This is the back from that first quilt.  Both sides are beautiful.  If anyone knows or remembers who made these let me know.  

Photography and Fine Arts Exhibit

Our photography and fine arts exhibits were not as large as I had hoped.  I am calling out for more participation next year.  I know many of you have beautiful pictures hiding in your computers or somewhere at home.  It is time to share. 

These are the kids paintings.

My son painted the black and white winter scene.  He got a reserve sweep stakes.  He didn't want me to enter it but I am glad I did.  He does beautiful work.

The top two photos are mine.  My daughter is on the left.  I also did the baseball collage.

Those two top paintings are paint by numbers.  I think they are really nice.

There was only one person entering in the High School level.  I think I need to bring that up at the school so the kids can prepare.

People from another county come and judge for us.  They really leave nice comments for us.  It is nice of them to give of their time.

Not Bound By Tradition Bee

While at the July Fair that UVQG held I saw at a booth this beautifully dyed quilt.  I was told it was made using freezer paper to block the dye.  I love this idea and am considering making one.  

This is an apron made of selvages.  It is a fun way to use what would be discarded.

There were some nice things at this booth.  I am not sure how to get in contact with them though.  Maybe the best way would be to contact the Utah Valley Quilt Guild.

Garfield County Fair Quilt Show

These are all the quilts that were entered into our Garfield County Fair this year.  We have a few more than last year but I am still hoping for even more next year.

Jerilu made this beautiful Dresden plate quilt.

These two quilts were not judged but they are hand quilted and really cute.

Wendy made this one.  It is tied.

This is mine that I made with Helen.

I think Tana made this one.  She is a Young Woman in my ward.

This apple core quilt is nice.

This pattern is something like Mad about Plaid.

This one is LaVee's.  It got a reserve sweepstakes.

Lyllian made this one.  I love it.

This one is my churn dash that I gave to my son, Jacob.

This is Dianne's quilt.

LaVee made this cute gingham quilt.

Sandy make this beautiful green quilt.

Cheri made this one and the back is just as beautiful.

Becky made this one.  It is our Quilt Walk inspiration for this next year.

Helen made this Scotty Dog quilt.

LaVee made the tumbler quilt.

I think this is Gayle's.

This is Elaine's.  She made it for her grand-daughter.  It has a temple quilted in the center.

Roxanna made this using selvages.

I think this is also Roxanna's.

This is the quilt we made with the guild for the Sub for Santa.  If you want ticket you need to get a hold of Zion's Bank in Panguitch.  $1 for each ticket.

This is Pat's quilt that she had made.

Last but not least is Becky's chevron quilt.  

It was another great fair with lots of activities.
