My daughter, Zoey, went to sewing camp in Henderson, Nevada. Quiltique has had a sewing camp for kids each year for the past 4 years. The camp is in the morning each week day for one week and is for kids 10 and up. I was very pleased with the camp and so were Zoey and her friend.
This is Zoey and her friend Taylor on the first day of camp. They made a zipper bag the first day. The second day they made a pillow case with hand embroidered names on them. I forgot to take a picture of that.
The third day they made ice-cream charms out of felt. Zoey has put that with her name tag on her machine. Then on the fourth day they started their quilt and also started a sleepover bag.
This is Taylor with her quilt. They finished up their projects the last day and had a pizza party to conclude.
Zoey is showing her sleepover bag. It is blurry at the bottom but the bag has a zippered pocket on it. At the end of the camp they get to keep the sewing machines that they used. This was a great idea because Zoey has been sewing nonstop since she got home. She is comfortable with the machine and can thread it all by her self. She can even take care of the bobbin. The teachers were wonderful too. Miss Patty and Miss Karen really were the teachers. I will try again next year to have Zoey go to sewing camp at Quiltique.
