September Guild

We were really blessed to have Claudia Crump show us value differences, this month.  She said that value or light, medium, and dark make a big difference in our quilts.  She also talked to us about color and the color wheel.  The design in this quilt would be totally different if there weren't such a difference in the values of the darks and lights.

This is our block of the month.  It is a log cabin made by Debbie.

This quilt you can see the "X" because of the contrast in value with the scraps.

Crystal made this wool table runner.

Some of us made table toppers or table runners for people coming to dedicate the Cedar City Temple.  I did get mine done but not in time to show it at guild.  If you can come see our Temple.  The open house is free and you would not believe how beautiful it is.  The open house is from October 27th-November 18th except Sundays.  For tickets look up templeopenhouse.lds.org.

Sheree made this one.  It is hand appliqued and hand quilted.

Keela's is really pretty.  Those look like one inch strips.  Wow.

Cheri's daughter made this cute bag.  She even sold some.

Cheri made another bandana quilt for a grand-daughters wedding.

Marie is going through her stash like gang busters.  She has made something each month using her stash.  She made 9 of these little see-through zipper bags.

Claudia put together this log cabin quilt.  Those are little pieces too.

Claudia made an everything bag too.  She said that the next one she makes will be with bigger pockets.

Each year Claudia makes a snowman quilt.  These are her latest.

This pattern was in Simply Modern or Quilt Mania Magazine, she can't remember.

This is showing the difference the value makes in making a pattern.  If your fabric is too dark to be a light, turn it over and use the back as the front.

This could be a flower it is so pretty.

Angeli is showing her blocks from the block of the month blocks.  She is getting them done even though she is behind.

LaRetta is an amazing quilter.  This is her Utah quilt.  The Sego Lilly's are the state flowers and the sea gull is the state bird.  Utah is called the Bee Hive State.  I am sure there is meaning in the blocks but I don't know them.

Sandy made this as her table topper.  Look at the temple in the center.

In Search of a New Neighbor

We are searching for a new neighbor.  Our neighbors are moving out and selling their house.  We live on a hill on the out skirts of Panguitch.  The view is spectacular and the neighbors are great.  There are only the three houses at the top of the hill and it is fairly quiet.  You can watch the fire works from the deck and the balloons in June.

This is a panoramic view so the rail is not that curvy.  I was just showing how nice the view is.

This is the backyard.  Where the tree is used to be an in ground trampoline.  The backyard is fenced.

This is the view from only one of the living room windows.

All of the appliances are in pristine condition.  They look like they are just out of the box.

This is the living room fire place and it is beautiful.

This is the living room.  The window to the left looks out over the valley and the one on the right looks to the back yard.  I didn't take one looking the other way but there are more windows.

The den or office is right off the entry way.  This window looks to the road to the south of the house.

This is the first bedroom upstairs.  It is a pretty good size.

Here is bathroom number 2.

Bedroom number 2 is quite spacious.  This one is south west facing.

Bedroom #3 is the smallest.  It was the sewing room.  Really they should have used the master bedroom for a sewing room.  That would have been a better use of the space.

Bathroom #3

This is the master bedroom.  It has a bathroom and a very spacious closet.  The windows look to the north over the valley.  

These are the stairs from the top looking down.  The rail needs to be painted but all the other paint looks great.  There is an unfinished basement and a two car garage below.  There are also two apple trees and rhubarb growing there too.  The sprinkling system works great and the lawn is thriving.  There is a small canal that curves around the property.  The finished part is about 2200sq. feet.  It has a walk out basement and includes a shed.  The home is move in ready and is in great condition.   They are asking 255,000 now before they get a realtor.  If you are interested let me know.  I'm hoping for fabulous new neighbors.

These are more of the quilts from our quilt show.  This first one is Jerilu's quilt.  It was quilted by Connie Biasi.

This is Radiant Elegance made by Norma Kerr.  It was paper pieced.

Left over kimonos is what this one is called.  It is also made by Norma Kerr.

This one is Moi Ami.  This was made by Billie McBride.  It was the first quilt she pieced.

Judy Woolley created this work of art.

This rag quilt was also made by Billie McBride.

Rhea Dearden made this quilt also.

Lana Foy made this quilt.  It is made to look like jars and lids.

Claudia Crump owns this beauty.  She bought it in an antique store.

Quilt Walk Quilt Show 2

These are the next set of Quilt Walk Quilt Show quilts.  I hope you enjoy them.  This first quilt is the Smith Family Reunion Quilt.  It was made using family photos.  They also had cousins sign in the nine patch blocks.  This was made by Norma Kerr.

This next one is Claudia's Quilt Walk quilt.  

This is Christmas Joy that was made by Norma Kerr.  It is machine embroidered.

These two photos are close ups of the Smith Family quilt.

This one is made by Merlene.  It is hand quilted, I think by Pauline Prince.

Norma Kerr is the quilt artist that made this one.  She says she dreamed it was spring and she dreamed up this quilt.

Rhea Dearden made this with the block of the month quilt blocks from our guild.

This is a family Picture quilt.  This is owned by Merilyn Veater.

Lyllian Lefever made this quilt.  It was a round robin for our guild.  It was quilted by Linda Walters.

Lillian Lefever made this and donated it to the Lions Club for their scholarships.

This Halloween Fun quilt was made by Norma Kerr.  She really is tallented.  I hope you all enjoyed the quilts.
