Hip Hop

I have been cutting and cutting flowers. I am taking a class at Ruby's next week. I am making a rabbit using floral fabric that we iron on. I know I have more than I need but it is hard to tell. I probably need more small ones.  I have used yards and yards of Steam-a-Seam 2.   When I get it going further I will post another photo.

Block Of The Month 2017

This year for the block of the month we are doing something totally different.  We need you to get a center block for your quilt and we are going to build out.  You may use a panel or a pieced block or what ever.  Each month will be something to add.

Claudia is thinking of using this panel she picked up for her daughter on her travels.  You look around in your stash or think up something new.  Next month we will get further instructions.

Fourth in State

Even though I don't care to watch wrestling, my son Wylee is doing quite well.  He is currently ranked fourth in State 1A.  He is a freshman and wrestles varsity.  I think that is great.  I can't handle watching but I am still a proud mother.

Ice Fishing

I took my girls ice fishing yesterday for the first time.  We were at Panguitch Lake and it was -8.  In 4H the kids made jigs to fish with and then we met up at the lake to try them out.  In our group only four caught fish.

My girls were freezing while I was going from hole to hole scooping out the ice.  Here I thought I would cover up and read.  That sure didn't work out like I had planned.

After two hours we gave up and went home.  Sophie thought her toes were going to fall off.  It was a beautiful day and we did see deer and elk on our way up and back.  I had taken a couple of books and snacks in anticipation of relaxing.  That did not happen.  I think I would not mind ice fishing if I wasn't tending to two miserably cold girls and their fishing holes.

Mom's Art Studio

Have you ever come across a photo that just makes you feel so much love that it makes you happy.  This is one I came across today.  I was going through photos and saw this and it made my day.  When I was young I would come home from school and lay down and watch my mom paint.  I loved it.  The smell of the oils and the peacefullness of the room was heaven.  I have a wonderful mom and love her so much.  I am so glad I have those wonderful memories that are priceless.
These are paintings of her childhood.  The top one was of the snow horses they built in the winter.  I remember building the snow horse too instead of the snowman.  The painting below is of bunker hill and the kids sledding.

This was another day but she was working on a fairy painting.
This painting is of my youngest son.  We did a photo shoot and mom painted this from the pictures.

This is one of my second son.  He is all grown up now but that was a fun photo shoot too.  It is so much fun to have creativity.  I love that my mom is a painter and really I think she could do anything.  She has been a wonderful example to me.  I could not have asked for a better mom.

It Is Good To Be Back Together

It is so good to be together again.  After several weeks off at Christmas and New Years time, we have had our sewing night.  It was so fun to catch up.  I could not believe the quilts that were being quilted.  Dianne was binding her cross roads quilt that she just got back from Connie.  I love the quilting on the sashing.  Can you see it in the photo?

These next two are made by LaVee.  The pink and blue one is made from charm squares.  The picture donesn't do this quilt justice.  The fabrics are beautiful.

Then this one below is the churn dash using Jenny Doan's method on Missouri Star.  It is so cute.  She is doing one for each of her grand children for when they get married.

This is Dianne showing her cross roads quilt.  She was binding it.  I just want to remind you all that we get together at the Senior Citizen's at 6:00 on Wednesdays.  Everyone is welcome.  We love to see what everyone is working on.

Ice Skating

The skating at Ruby's is so fun.  For only two dollars your kids can skate for two hours.  The weather was great over the holidays so we took full advantage.
These are my girls having fun on the ice.   They have some things like walkers to help you with your balance.  One is broken but most are in good shape.  It is best if you get there early.  They don't have anyone cleaning off all the shavings so it is harder later.  How can you complain for two dollars.  I am glad we have it here.  It is fun.

Happy New Year

Happy New Year!  I love to think over the possibilities of a new year.  I am hoping for a very productive year.  I have loads of unfinished projects I need to finish and loads of supplies to use too.  I am sure most of you are in the same boat.

These are pictures of our New Year's party in Panguitch.  I have to say these are just a few and by no means a good representation of all that was going on at the Triple C.  They had food, Bounce house and slide and climbing wall.  There were others that performed too.  I am just showing a few pictures.  Also there was bingo too.

This is my husband, Eric playing the base.  He also sang a few songs.  My daughter playing in the dirt.  They had a money dig for the kids.  Let me tell you, this party is my speed.  I love visiting with the community and letting my kids just play.  My husband even got to play.  Panguitch really has many fun activities and this is one of the ones I totally enjoy.  There are many volunteers that help out too.  Thank you to all you that help with these fun activities.
Here are Tim Smith, Lauren Smith, Eric Fawson, and John Ryan.
